FLASH FLOODS KILL MORE THAN 300 PEOPLE IN AFGHANISTAN

Why in the news?

Flash floods from unusually heavy seasonal rains in Afghanistan have killed more than 300 people and destroyed over 1,000 houses, the UN food agency said on Saturday

  • The World Food Program is providing fortified biscuits to survivors of recent floods in Afghanistan, particularly in Baghlan province.
  • Badakhshan, Baghlan, Ghor, and Herat are identified as the worst-hit provinces, with significant financial losses and extensive devastation reported.
